This thing comes from a fun era in electronics! The interface to the CD-ROM is SCSI 2, the drive can provide it's own termination, and has ID switches. As a music player, it will play CDs in stereo through the little speakers shown, and that is honestly not half bad.
Sale includes the unit only.
It can also play through a line out jack, and if you want to use the "sparializer" to process other sound, you can do that with the line in jack.
I gave that a listen and what it appears to do is give you two additional channels of sound. They are R-L and L-R, which are basically the inverse of the two normal stereo tracks. If you hook up 4 speakers, and drive two of them using this thing, you will get a 2D sound image!
Basically, the quiet parts in the background become louder on the rear speakers, giving you a nice, room filling sound you have probably not heard. On some units, this is called matrix surround.
Unit works well, can run on batteries and appears to work well.
