From the Manufacturer The 3M™ Cut-Off Wheel Tool 20234 delivers a fast, smooth cut and the power needed to cut through metal including carbon and stainless steel tubing, pipe, rebar, or sheets (cut-off wheels sold separately). Choose this 4" diameter model for easier access to small workpieces. Designed to optimize the performance of 4" 3M™ Cut-Off Wheels (sold separately), this hand-held pneumatic tool features a powerful 1 hp high-output air motor with over-sized ball bearings on the output spindle and robust spiral bevel gearing, ready for hours of heavy-duty use (power hose and air compressor sold separately). This tool is engineered for operator comfort in demanding metal cutting applications, featuring patented 3M™ Gripping Material on the grip for a secure hold and enhanced control with less effort, and a 360° directional exhaust that can double as a fan. A 360° rotatable safety guard provides maximum surface visibility and operator protection, and a safety lever throttle helps prevent accidental starting. Precautions: It is always recommended that while using the tool, operators stand on a solid floor, in a secure position with a firm grip and footing. Be aware that the tool can develop a torque reaction. Never use cut-off wheels that have a Max RPM less than the RPM rating marked on the tool. RPM for this tool is 20,000. The 3M Cut-Off Wheel Tool requires a clean lubricated air supply that will give a measured air pressure at the tool of 6.2 bar (90 psi) when the tool is running with the lever fully depressed so the maximum RPM is not exceeded. The tool can be run at lower pressures but should never be run higher than 6.2 bar (90 psi). If run at lower pressure the performance of the tool is reduced. For pneumatic power to the tool, it is recommended to use an approved 10 mm (3/8 in) x 8 m (25 ft) maximum length airline. Appropriate air pressure regulators must be used at all times while operating this tool where the supply pressure exceeds the marked maximum of the tool.
